Ok, I Bought Sattelite Direct. Keep Your Fingers Crossed.

Just to let you know I did get the Satellite Direct program I was talking about, and after a few days of tinkering around with it, I’ll post my findings and I’ll be sure to give you a full review on its functionality. I’m going to stream the TV on my computer and then connect it to my big screen.

I will personally formulate an unbiased Satellite Direct Review and you will be able to see the pros and cons for yourself.

So, while I wait for some down time that will let me play around with the program, I wanted to tell you about a couple of things that have been bothering me since I read that Yahoo article.

Why, if cable companies are vying for our monthly payments, don’t they make it easier on our wallets? I mean, sure they have “bundle” packages that can help “save money in the long run”, but if you just want cable and not a home phone, you’re pretty much stuck with either a useless home phone or an overpriced cable service. With programs popping up that only charge a one time fee, like Satellite Direct, cable companies are going to need to do something drastic if they don’t want to lose their customers.

Another thing is, why charge extra for sporting events? Boxing, football, and basketball are events that should be available to all. Cable companies are robbing their customers and taking advantage of die-hard fans, when they would probably be able to gain more business if they included that in with the already overpriced service. Most people would probably rather go catch the live game or boxing match at a local restaurant with some friends instead of paying $40 or $50 to pay for an event.

Some people do not know about programs like Satellite Direct, but with the popularity of the internet steadily growing, there is really a chance the cable companies will be unnecessary in 5 years…maybe even sooner!

I guess that’s all I have to ramble on about today. I just need to wait for an opportune time to sit in front of my computer and give Satellite Direct a thorough test drive. I will keep you updated and let you know if it’s not worth it or if it’s the best thing since sliced bread. :)
